When you look at yourself in the mirror what is the first thought that pops into your head?
Are you comfortable in your own skin?
How many times do you focus on your differences in an unfavourable light, instead of appreciating the uniqueness of you?
Here are some ways you can remove that debilitating self-talk.
Many of us throughout our life look externally for love and acceptance.
We continually search for approval and acknowledgement outwardly.
There are some who truly believe that life is all about working towards perfection, whether it be having the perfect family; in their relationships or their physical appearance.
We postulate that as long as we outwardly project happiness, and show everyone that we were okay, then everything will work itself out.
Deep down we know that this is not true, and we are fooling ourself into a false sense of security.
We become more concerned about what everyone else thinks of us.
Some of us focus more on how we look on the outside, rather than how we really feel about ourself deep within.
We continually wear a mask.

Here are my 3 top tips to help you shift those unwanted beliefs and remove that debilitating self-talk.
Top Tip 1
Your thoughts become your actions! Boom! Light bulb moment!
Have you ever caught yourself wishing for something and then it manifests before your eyes?
You might not have even given it a second thought and all of a sudden it appears.
Our mind is a powerful force, subconsciously and consciously we will things to happen in our lives.
When you open your eyes first thing in the morning, place your right hand on your heart and say ‘I love you unconditionally. My heart is overflowing with love for you’. This is also a great practice to do with a mirror. Look into your eyes as you deliver this mantra.
Compliment yourself throughout the day, ‘that top I picked really brightens my eyes’, ‘my hair is just amazing today’, ‘I love that I make friends so easily’, ‘I have a great smile’.
Each day declare to yourself five edifying thoughts.
Top Tip 2
Focus on what you have accomplished.
We tend to forget to appreciate and give thanks for our journey.
Here is an easy test.
Look back over the last 12 months, and write down the changes you have implemented, that have helped you grow and move closer to your purpose and truth.
Remember the small things, they all add up. For eg maybe you take 5 minutes out of your day to meditate/prayer, or you have taken the time to focus on a healthy lifestyle, perhaps you now surround yourself with edifying amazing humans that encourage and inspire you.
Whatever it is for you.
Writing and visualising are great ways to acknowledge all you have accomplished.
Top Tip 3
Do something each day that makes you happy. Release those happy hormones!
Did you know you choose to live a happy life?
These five neurotransmitters and hormones are activated when you are happy. Dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, estrogen and progesterone.
How can you access these ‘feel good’ hormones?
Start with a smile.
Listen to some uplifting music.
Dance. Movement is a great way to activate those feel good hormones.
Doing things you love.
Cuddling your pet.
Pampering yourself with a warm bath.
Spend time in nature.
Be mindful of the foods you eat as saturated fat, sugar and starchy foods may imbalance your hormone levels.
Your thoughts, beliefs and actions can manifest whatever your heart desires.
Focus on what makes you happy and you are halfway there!
